Legal Analyst

We have an ongoing need for Legal Analysts, applications for this role are welcomed at any time.

About us:

AORA has created a cognitive AI system to provide useful aids to human experts. It models laws and provides a draft legal opinion given a set of facts. New laws are being added and we need people to model these in the system.

The role:

Your chief job is to research an area of law (consulting statute, government-issued guidance, and case law) and specify it in a structured form, easy for our programmers and our system itself to comprehend.

However, the work is by no means confined to this central task; other opportunities regularly include:

  • presenting demos to leading practitioners
  • collaborating with expert advisors
  • product development and design
  • writing fact sheets, web pages, and scripts for explainer videos.
  • devising and running tests for the system

The work is highly stimulating and varied. You’ll develop transferrable analytical, technical, and logical reasoning skills and in-depth knowledge of the legal areas you analyse.

There will be new opportunities as the business expands. There is plenty of on-the-job learning and collaboration with leading academics.

Applying:

We welcome applicants from any academic discipline. If you have finished (or are finishing) an LLB or GDL and have recently secured a training contract due to start in at least nine months, you are most welcome to apply. The experience will significantly strengthen your ability to analyse legal texts.

You will be required to sit a 90-minute test, which will benefit both you and us, as it closely mimics the type of work that you’d be doing.

Salary details:

£25,000 to £29,999.

Paid leave of 28 days per year, including public holidays.

Statutory pension contributions.

Closing date: We welcome applications at any time.
